This ancient structure of black stone is often the first signs of civilization and the city people see upon exiting the mist. A tall set of multilevel gatehouses are at each end, decorated with ropes and gibbets. Outer gates show the sign of the Dreamweaver, and ancient spider goddess of dreams, the inner show the Dark Angel. The bridge comes with a series of streetlamps, and removable center piece, allowing it to be extended as far as needed with additional sections added.

The Old Library is thought to be the first library in the City of Vampires. Though the number of volumes are limited, borrowers are surprised to find works thought lost in ages past or tomes written by the Great Old Ones. Powerful, dark enchantments keep any volume from being removed from the Old Library without the express permission of the Librarian.

The Old Library is a towering column of black marble tiling, with a sinister spider/squid roofcap with radiant shining lamps like eyes. One enters through the bottom floor, where one writes their name in the great book - only then can those who walk can open the door to the stairs up. Vampires are not so limited, with each floor containing a lamp enshrouded Vampire Door in the ceiling. The upper floors feature grand bookcases, study tables and ever lit candles. A few mysterious paintings adorn the walls, showing previous and famous visitors to the library.

In life, Martina the Poisoner was a woman who plied her trade of poisoning the enemies of the wealthy and the powerful in the last days of the Roman Republic. Her crimes in life were terrible yet she did not embrace the darkness - not until her final day of life. Her home in the City of Vampires mixes the dark, gothic surface of the city with her own Roman background. A pleasing drawing room, with fireplace, fine Roman paintings draw you in. The second floor is devoted to her nefarious trade, with chemicals, devices and poisonous mushrooms growing. The third floor, her sleeping place, is as many of the Great Doomed of the city - both a coffin and a bed.

The Observatory is a recent addition to the City of Vampires - as recent as the appearance of gaslight. Those who enter the observatory can feel the presence of someone there, as if the others exist slightly out of phase with the rest of the city. Yet evidence there is of an occupant - of one studying the stars, and of something else that called the vat of living, viscous fluid from the outer darkness. This tall building, through doors sporting a single large eye offers aid of a certain kind. A small astronomical library, a floor devoted to the study of materials brought from the stars, and finally the dome with the telescope. A railed walkway surrounds the dome, and a pair of double doors allow viewing of the night sky, though in only one direction.

The Clocktower towers over the City of Vampires, its golden face dimly illuminating a single section of the city. Those fortunate or not to live in that district can always tell the time of day, while others rely on the dim tolling of the bell. Through dark doors and through a library, one can find oneself in the bell keepers chambers, the deafening machine room or the bell tower itself. But the keeper is not along, for somewhere within is an ancient evil. Works within a dark, gothic setting or within a dark steampunk environment.

Adelbrandr was a gifted warrior of the Russ, fierce in battle, generous with rings - but in time no wealth or woman could quench his desire to meet his equal in battle. In time, he grew dark, ungenerous and evil, and those he defeated he treated with dishonor and let their blood. His terrible evil brought him through the mists to the City of Vampires, where his house is small, but reflective of his character. Behind the door of the double axe is a small mead hall, with bloodied tapestries and drinking horns. Up a floor to a battle circle, littered with weapons and shields of fallen foes. Finally above all, a dark and dreary hall, decorated with crow sculptures and equipped with a mortal's bed as well as a coffin.

In the depths of time, her name was Elizabeth Báthory, a countess with a terrible desire to remain beautiful forever - and thought that bathing in the blood of beautiful young girls would would keep the effects of time at bay. Yet few know her by name except as the Bloody Countess - a monster. Her house features a dining room with pictures of dryads and other female figures from myth, twisted and darkened, in a room with a fireplace and a set table with gold place settings.
