Artemisia absinthium (absinthium, absinthe wormwood, wormwood or grand wormwood) is a species of wormwood, native to temperate regions of Eurasia and northern Africa.

It grows naturally on uncultivated, arid ground, on rocky slopes, and at the edge of footpaths and fields.
