SHADE 12 E is not available for Mac OS X on PPC.
Please visit http://www.shadetrial.com to check for updates.
Most distributions of Shade 12 E include an activation code, especially if you purchased Shade 12 through a reseller. You must register your activation code in order to receive a final serial number, updates and tech support.
If you haven't registered your copy of Shade 12 E yet, please visit http://www.mirye.net to create an account. To create an account, go to My Account to begin the account creation process. Through My Account, you can exchange your activation code for a serial number, participate in discussions on Mirye Forums or make use of technical support and more.
We require your serial number in order to register or upgrade your copy of Shade 12(tm). Any registration with incomplete or inaccurate information will automatically be deleted.
- Please keep your product serial number in a safe place and inaccessible to any network.
- The Demo version of Shade 12 has a trial period of 30 days. After 30 days you will need to visit our website at http://www.mirye.net to purchase a new serial number to continue using your copy of Shade 12.
- ShadeGrid 12 E Server is not included in this installer package. During the installation process, you may be prompted to download and install ShadeGrid 12 E Server. You can also download and install ShadeGrid 12 E Server from: http://www.shadetrial.com
- For information about Poser integration, see the SHADE FAQ on the Mirye Software website - http://www.mirye.net
- Applescript is no longer supported as a scripting option under Mac OS X; Python is supported on all Shade platforms
- Rendering size of Shade 12 depends on memory installed. The maximum size of it is 22,528 x 22,528 pixels. However, when you use the 32bit version of Shade 12, the maximum size of rendering size is about 15,000 x 15,000 pixels. based on available memory. When you save a big rendering image (for example, 64 bit pixel depth imaging with greater than 8,000 X 8,000 pixel), we recommend that you save it in OpenEXR or Targa format.
Some features are only enabled on 32 bit versions of Shade 12 because of unavailable 64 bit versions of libraries from third party developers.
* These features work on both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows.
The following are legacy plugins that are not automatically available in Shade 12. To use these plugins, you need to activate them. Legacy plugins may be eliminated in future versions.
* The Boolean Modeling Plugin features are replaced by integrated boolean modeling features in Shade 12.
The following plugins that were available or, were legacy plugins previously in Shade are no longer available.
* Stereoscopic Renderer Plugin, ShadeExplorer and Magnet Tool Plugin features are now incorporated into Shade 12. Most CALLISTO features are now integrated into Shade 12 native renderer.
The Shade 12 file format includes support for new features introduced with Shade 12, however with Shade 12.0.1 or later you can save files to be compatible with Shade 10. Saving with backwards compatible information can increase your file size.
- GLSL Phong shading requires a video card compatible with OpenGL 2.1 or later.
- ATI Radeon(TM) (X1950, 9800) Series on Windows. If you have a version prior to the HD series of these cards, go to the View Tab of Shade Preferences and select the checkbox Disable linestipple and polygonstipple.
- ATI Radeon (TM) Series on Windows. If Shade crashes on exit when using an ATI Radeon series card, go to menu Edit > Preferences, View Tab and uncheck the Use Frame Buffer Object.
- ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series. Some bugs were introduced with Catalyst Version 10.10 that may or may not be resolved in follow up versions to Catalyst. Catalyst Version 10.09 is compatible with Shade 12.
- Shade's hardware accelerated preview runs best on recent NVIDIA and ATI graphics boards. In case you encounter any problems with the hardware acceleration, please switch off the acceleration component.
If upgrading to the newest driver version offered by the original manufacturer still does not solve the problem, set the hardware accelerator to [none] under graphics accelerator trouble shooting.
In order to support this feature, you need an NVIDIA 3D VISION compatible environment, including a QUADRO graphics board, compatible display and 3D glasses. For specific limitations and requirements, see the NVIDIA website.
NOTE REGARDING WINDOWS XP: NVIDIA 3D VISION and Shade 12 have some display issues under Window XP when hardware acceleration is being used. To resolve these issues, right-click the Windows XP desktop to show Display Properties. Select Details and Troubleshooting options.
You may need to activate stereoscopic display through your NVIDIA control panel. To do this, right-click the desktop to show Display Properties. Select Manage 3D Settings and ensure that Stereo Display is active and that your refresh rate is 120 hertz.
QuickTime installed in Mac OS X 10.6 is QuickTime X. Shade cannot output QuickTime VR right because this version does not support QuickTime VR. Install QuickTime Player 7 from Mac OS X 10.6 install DVD to solve this problem.
