Curved Surface Modeling

Create delicate, continuous surfaced, living objects with Shade's trademark curved surface modeling tools.

Rapidly create skinned, complex objects. Shade's trademark curved surface modeling paradigm makes it easy to create,  transform and animate objects that are naturally curved - from smooth skinned characters to the most complex or delicate of machinery. Either begin with an existing shape in the toolbox, or build up your model by adding more and more control points to bend, bulge and translate surfaces. Shade curved surface modeling tools are instantly familiar to 2D designers that use Adobe Illustrator and other professional vector illustration tools. Curved Surface modeling lets you create high performance, low memory consumption models and scenes by utilizing bezier curves.

Curved Surface Modeling Features

  • Build Complex Objects with Bezier Curves. Build rich, complex models out of curved surfaces, each of which are generated with any number of high precision bezier curves.
  • Automatically Create Bevels and Rounded Edges. Grab an edge and easily generate smooth, rounded edges or bevels on curved surface objects.
  • Divide, Combine, and Join to Create Complex Objects. Fast operations make it easy to turn one into multiple objects, and later combine those objects into one, while retaining the flexibility of curved surface objects.
  • Covert Easily to Polygons for Mesh Editing. One selection coverts curved surface objects into polygon models with fine surface subdivisions, making it easy to generate multiple copies of an object with different polygon count.
