Modeling

Shade Modeling

Shade's Create: Tool Set lets you start with all the standard primitives, or create entirely new Curved Surface or Poly Mesh models. Shade also has model automation tools and plugins that gives you a head start, including new tools for to let you accomplish more, faster.

Shade 12 introduces new mirror modeling tools that allow you to develop a single side of a model, then duplicate geometry. You can later go back and use align vertices to straighten or adjust across mirrored geometry to create a more natural, organic effect.

Use true Boolean modeling to create new, standalone geometry with complete control over surface-subdivision. Or, add simple Boolean directives to a part to tell Shade's flexible renderer how to apply boolean logic at render time, rather than making permanent modification to your model.

More about Curved Surfaces. Curved Surfaces are a 3D virtual lattice that join together precision bezier curves into any kind of organic or mechanical form. Increase detail by building up additional line objects or increasing the number, curve or density of points. Curved Surfaces are an intuitive way to model and instantly familiar to 2D creative and technical illustrators. Keep your Curved Surface models as resolution free vector based models, or use powerful subdivision surface conversion to transform your model into a Poly Mesh model. Build Poly Mesh objects or import from other environments for advanced editing within Shade. Take control of vertex | edge | face based selection and editing, and powerful selection tools for isolating and modifying only the parts of the model you really need to change.
