Shade Rendering

Shade features a refined, fast rendering system.

Shade Core Rendering

The speed and quality of the built in Shade renderer is amazing - even Shade Designer, the entry level version of Shade supports Global Illumination and Radiosity. Shade Pro also includes greater control and time saving features with Radiosity 3 Pro settings. The native Shade rendering engine can leverage every CPU for rendering as well. You can use several core rendering methods together in Shade, in combination with Global Illumination settings for Photon Mapping and Radiosity.

Draft Raytracing: Faster, Better Previews

Shade features not only one of the fastest integrated renderers available, but also one that gives you more accuracy in previewing. New in Shade 10, draft raytracing incorporates many features of the core raytracing engine yet is fast enough to allow designers to use it for previewing.

Raytracing

Shade Core Rendering can leverage raytracing for excellent reflective surfaces and refraction. Achieve incredible indoor and outdoor lighting in combination with Radiosity.

Pathtracing

Path Tracing provides extremely high-quality rendering using special ray casting techniques that allows you to express indirect light,  and blurred surfaces using global illumination.

Wireframe

Shade wireframe rendering is a flexible way to produce production drafts and also superior technical illustrations. Control line and background color, hide and show hidden wire and more.

 

Non-Photorealistic Rendering / Toon Rendering

Shade has a powerful and flexible NPR or Toon Renderer. Apply NPR effects to photorealistic renders. Use built in styles like Cell Animation, Technical Illustration, Manga, Pencil Drawing, Half Tone and Color Half Tone. Create and save your own NPR styles. Control outlining (Object, Normal, Cross-Section, Hidden Lines) and painting styles.


Callisto 2

Shade Callisto 2 Calculated Caustics

Shade has an architecture that supports external renderers. Callisto 2 is an alternative plug-in renderer included with Shade Professional that provides highly granular control. Callisto 2 excels at controlling light in your projects -  indirect light, accurate, calculated caustics. Use Callisto 2 for hand tuned control over anti-alias oversampling and surface sub-division. Callisto 2 also supports displacement mapping. Use a special Compo Joint to perform complex material animation.
